Curbelo Commends Administration Decision to Keep LGBTQ Workplace Protections

Statement

Date: Jan. 31, 2017
Location: Washington, DC

Representative Carlos Curbelo (FL-26) released the following statement regarding today's White House statement announcing the Administration will keep in place a 2014 executive order that bans anti-LGBTQ workplace discrimination:

"I have always believed Americans in the workplace should be judged by the content of their character and quality of their work and should never be subject to any discrimination based on race, religion, gender, or sexual orientation. Today's statement from the White House makes it clear the new Administration agrees, and this is something all Americans should celebrate. If we are going to bring our country together we must start by celebrating our diversity and respecting the dignity of all people. Today the new Administration has taken a welcome step in that direction."
